This position provides a critical interface with the patient care delivery at
the Wingra Family Medical Center and requires extensive knowledge of the
overall clinic operations, policies and procedures that are essential to
facilitate clinical activity.
Responsibilities include:
Telecommunication operations; independently scheduling appointments/procedures
online for 27 providers; verification of HMO eligibility and clinic assignment;
maintenance of providers; templates and monthly schedules; and medical
reception duties. Independent decision making abilities are required for
triaging patient medical problems according to the urgency. Position is
expected to answer telephone in a professional manner, communicate effectively
and obtain highly confidential medical information in a manner that requires
discretion and judgment in interpretation and application of established
policies and procedures. Position must function as the clinic liaison with a
variety of internal and external contacts, e.g., other DFM clinic and
administrative staff, School of Medicine and Pubilc Health and campus staff,
faculty, physicians, residents, students, and the public. Position
necessitates maintaining a professional manner at all times and providing
excellent customer service.
Duties are performed under general
supervision and the position reports to the Program Assistant Supervisor.
