| Job Summary: |
The Marshfield Agricultural Research Station and Institute for Environmentally
Integrated Dairy Management (IEIDM) consists of approximately 850 acres, a
600-animal unit dairy and replacement research herd, 2 office buildings, 9
laboratories, public meeting room and a technology transfer room. The Facility Repair Worker must perform complex mechanical maintenance and repair work to building systems at the Station and IEIDM that include, but are not limited to: 1) heating, air conditioning and ventilation; 2) plumbing; 3) electrical and electronics; 4) communications; and 5) various other mechanical equipment related primary to water systems. The repair worker will also be required to perform preventative maintenance on farm equipment. The Facility Repair Worker maintains the major responsibility for maintenance and repair of Station and IEIDM equipment and to assist with general field work when needed. This position is required to work independently with good judgment, assist in preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and machines. | |
| Additional Requirements: |
Take training to operate and maintain building equipment offered by equipment
manufacturers. Catalogue all equipment maintenance manuals and outside and
internal keys. Understand and execute with scientists and technicians all
safety handicapped personal needs. ADDITIONAL DESIRED NEEDS Some buildings will have telephone and computer service ¿ understanding of operational needs of these devices would be helpful. | |
