- Permanent Residence Workshop Schedule
- The next scheduled workshop will take place on 9 November at 8 AM in room 5136 at 21 N. Park Street. Please consult the Permanent Residence section of the IFSS web (link at left) for detailed information on UW-Madison policies and procedures. Should you need additional information not provided on the web, please contact Deborah Ahlstedt at: dahlstedt@ohr.wisc.edu.
- Applications for Labor Certification for teaching faculty must be filed within 18 months of the INITIAL offer letter. For additional information on UW-Madison policies for filing for permanent residence and general information on the process, please see the IFFS web site: http://www.ohr.wisc.edu/ifss/index.htm.
- Because the employing department is very involved in the application process, it is imperative that the department administrator accompany the international faculty or staff member to the workshop. Pre-registration is necessary; to register send an email message to: dahlstedt@ohr.wisc.edu, giving your name and department and the name and campus mailing address of your department administrator.

H-1B Workshops
- The next scheduled workshop will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm in room 1108 at 21 N. Park Street.
- This workshop is only for the employing department; therefore please do not invite your H-1B beneficiary to join you at the workshop. The beneficiary can ask me any questions during my office hours on Wednesday afternoons from 1-3 pm.
- Pre-registration is necessary; to register send an email message to: jtaylor@ohr.wisc.edu, giving your name and department.

I-9 Workshop
- International Faculty and Staff Services offers a workshop on completing the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. This is a comprehensive workshop covering the verification requirements, how to properly complete the form, and which documents are acceptable. Special attention is given to the immigration documents that one is likely to encounter in a university setting. The workshop is appropriate for individuals who have not had extensive training in completing the I-9 and who are responsible for conducting the employment eligibility verification for their department.
- The next scheduled workshop will be on 20 November, 2009 from 1-3 PM in room 5045 at 21 N. Park Street. Individuals who wish to attend must pre-register by sending an email to Deborah Ahlstedt at dahlstedt@ohr.wisc.edu.
