Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN or RN)
required.
License/certification:
Nursing license.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
- Three or more years clinical trial and research experience including experience in smoking
cessation field, documentation of adverse events and concomitant medications preferred.
- Seven
years experience in health care field, including experience with vaccine administration and blood
draws strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office products
required.
- Verbal and written communication skills required
- Experience with FDA, IRB and
study
sponsors.
Principal duties:
Study implementation:
Provide nursing services for clinical research studies, insuring adherence
to protocol. Dispense study medications according to study protocol. Dispense injections under
physicians' orders. Work with study coordinator, PI, Research Assistants and student hourly
workers. Back up field research staff for study visits. Coordinate laboratory sample collection
and delivery. Perform physical and other testing as required by protocol
Information and
materials management:
Perform necessary data collection and entry. Monitor testing and specimen
collection under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Participate in quality assurance
for the studies.
Other duties:
Respond to questions from subjects for more information
about current clinical trial and other smoking cessation resources, according to protocol. Refer
questions to appropriate CTRI staff. Act as IRB liaison as assigned. Perform other duties as
assigned by the Principal
Investigator.
